Minister of Municipal Affairs and Housing, Jim Watson, MPP for Ottawa West-Nepean, was joined by Yasir Naqvi, MPP for Ottawa Centre, and two OHS kittens for today's funding announcement.
It's been a busy couple of days on Champagne Avenue as staff at the OHS celebrated two major funding pledges to help build our new shelter.
Yesterday, Transport, Infrastructure and Communities Minister, John Baird, revealed that the federal government will contribute $1.8 million to the new shelter. Today, Minister of Municipal Affairs and Housing, Jim Watson, announced that the province is kicking in $500,000 to help build Ottawa's animals a new home.
Both pledges are welcome and needed additions to our Breaking Ground Building Campaign. To learn more about the fundraising drive, visit www.breakingground.ca.
