Roisin, a shy Irish rose

Roisin 2

Hi there! My name is Roisin (Irish for Little Rose). I'm a loving and beautiful but shy, 3 year old, spayed, brown tabby. I'm looking for a new home that is stable and with a regular routine to help me feel safe. I'm a wallflower type if you will, and am going to need a very patient owner to help me come out of my shell at my own pace. I would do best in a quiet environment, with respectful, older children (12 and over), who will understand that I take a while to be comfortable with my new surroundings. Once I'm acclimatized to my new home, I'm more than happy to be held close in your arms for snuggles and given lots of affection.

I was abandoned outside of the Ottawa Humane Society. I was very sick with pyometra (an infection). The OHS staff had to perform emergency surgery on me to save my life, and thanks to their tender care I quickly recuperated.

Please remind the staff to send my "hide-and-perch" box home with me and my blanket in my kennel, to help me be comfortable in my new home. These items will help me adapt quicker to my new home and aide me in feeling safe! I really am a wonderful soul! Even though the staff are treating me very well and lovingly, I find shelter life to be more than I can handle: it's a busy place, but I'm being a very well behaved girl about the whole thing. If you have the right home for me, please contact the OHS Adoption Centre at 613-725-3166 ext. 258, or send an email to
