Pinky, Sleepy and Frank

Calling all Gerbil fans! Meet Pinky (A116091), Sleepy (A116094) and Frank (A116089). These are just three out of more then a dozen gerbils at the shelter right now!

All three are just over 3 months old! Pinky and Sleepy are Gray gerbils, while their brother Frank is black and white! They came to us at the beginning of May and are still looking for their forever home. Gerbils need a secure small mammal cage or terrarium as they are known escape artists!

They have strong teeth and have a strong urge to chew, so mostly plastic cages and toys should be avoided! You would need things in their cage to chew, like a mineral wheel, or natural wood items made for small animals, so they can keep their teeth trimmed!

A nutritionally balanced gerbil food, with plenty of fresh water should always be available. Gerbils will also benefit from a pinch of timothy hay daily. They also need bi-weekly dust baths to keep their coats looking sleek and shiny!

Are you a gerbil parent in waiting? Then come down to the shelter and meet them today, or contact the OHS Adoption Centre at 613-725-3166 ext. 258 or at
