Rachel's Story

Looking for a princess? We have the lady for you! Meet Rachel (A120015), an 11 month old, spayed female, black and white domestic shorthair cat. Rachel’s very first birthday is coming very soon and how wonderful would it be if she could spend that first birthday in her new home? She arrived at the OHS in August via our animal emergency department, as she was found as a stray with a big injury in her stomach. It took some time for the treatments to heal her, but now she is fit as a fiddle!

While Rachel is a super-sweet cat, when you first meet her she can come across as a little shy and stand-offish. She very much prefers to come to you when she is ready: all she really wants is a nice warm lap to curl up on. Because she came to us as a stray her previous life is unknown but we have noticed that her favourite past time at the shelter is looking out the window. Do you have an empty window sill that needs a cat? Then come down to the shelter to meet Rachel, or contact the OHS Adoption Centre at 613-725-3166 ext. 258 or at adoptions@ottawahumane.ca.
