OHS Pet of the Week: Ben

Dogs are born to work for a living. They’ve worked alongside us for thousands of years, and most are bred for a particular purpose, like hunting, herding livestock or providing protection. The most common job for our companion dogs today, however, is Couch Potato! While Ben (A125884), a handsome 6 year old Boxer and Coonhound mix, does enjoy the occasional nap on the couch, he has lots of energy to burn!

He’d love to move in with a family of joggers, who will take him outside for long romps. Due to his boisterous nature, a family with an active, female dog and children 12 and up are recommended. So if you don’t like to sit still, Ben may be the dog for you. To learn more about Ben, contact the Ottawa Humane Society at 613-725-3166 ext. 258 or at
