Laureen Harper to be sou-chef at Garden Party

Mrs. Laureen Harper will be Chef Tim Wasylko's volunteer sou-chef at the Summer Harvest Garden Party!

The fundraiser in honour of Chef Kurt Waldele will take place this Sunday, August 28, 2011, from 2 to 5pm at the Ottawa Humane Society's new facility at 245 West Hunt Club Road.

Chef Wasylko is the Chef at the Prime Minister's Residence. The Summer Harvest Garden Party is a fundraiser for the Ottawa Humane Society in memory of the late Chef Kurt Waldele, who had a passion for both food and animals.

Friends of Kurt have teamed with dozens of local Chefs to present fabulous feast.  Guests will sample food from more than 20 Ottawa-area Chefs, and wines from Niagara, Prince Edward County and beyond.

This is a very rare culinary event    many of the participating Chefs work at embassies and hotels where members of the public don't have an opportunity to sample their food. Partnering with them are Chefs from some of the City's most renowned restaurants. 

The new building is the perfect backdrop for guests to witness first-hand how funds raised for the OHS are used.  It's a beautiful and inspired space and organizers are anxious to welcome guests to what they promise to be a new culinary showcase.
