Frost-bitten cat rescued by Good Samaritan

Marlah (A126590), a one-year old black, short-haired cat discovered just how brutally cold Ottawa in February can be.
She had been left on her own in the cold until a Good Samaritan found her – suffering from frost bite to her ears, paw pads and her tail.
Marlah was brought to the OHS and examined by the OHS veterinarian. Some of the damage was permanent. Her ears and tail could not be saved and her tail had to be amputated.
Marlah was prescribed medication to help manage the pain, and given antibiotics to ward off infection. After the surgery, Marlah went to a foster volunteer’s home to recuperate in comfort.
